I have a problem: I can’t leave good enough alone.
I am an embedded software engineer by trade, but my real passion lives at the intersection of code, plastic, and electronics.
I’ve learned almost everything I know from great tutorials online. But usually, a tutorial shows you the “Happy Path”—the perfect final result where everything fits together on the first try.
This site is about the reality behind that result.
Sometimes that means designing a custom circuit board from scratch. Other times, it means taking an off-the-shelf smart bulb and designing a 3D printed mount so it actually fits my bedside table, or writing custom code to make different brands talk to each other.
My goal isn’t just to build smart devices, but to integrate them seamlessly into my environment—and to learn a ton of new skills along the way.
My Philosophy
- Iterate: V1 is for learning. V2,V3,V4….VN is for fixing. VN+1 is for using.
- Integrate: A smart home shouldn’t feel like a tech demo. It should fit the home, not the other way around.
- Open Source: I share my STLs, my config files, and the small details I had to figure out so you don’t have to.
This blog is the log of those attempts. Whether it’s a custom lamp, a functional 3D print for the kitchen, or just figuring out how to make two sensors work together, I want to show you the entire process.
